Man, I did a lot of riding this weekend. My legs are definitely feeling it. I netted 39.6 miles with around 6400 ft in elevation gain over the 3 days.

Saturday, I headed up to the Santa Ana Mountains for the first time. We rode up Maple Springs and down the Motorway singletrack. First off, it was raining the night before and it was cold. But little did I expect to find snow. The snow level apparently dropped down to the 3000 ft mark. Some of it had begun to melt already, creating a muddy mess.

Overall it was a great ride that consisted of almost 3 hours of pedaling and 3750 feet of climbing. The 3 miles of downhill singletrack on Motorway almost makes it worth it though.

All I know is I need to invest in some warmer gloves and figure out how to keep my feet from freezing.

Sunday followed with a quick ride through Aliso & Wood Canyons. This was the first time there with my singlespeed. We rode up Cholla up to the Top of the World, and dropped back down on Mathis.

President’s Day afforded me an extra ride. We took a loop around Crystal Cove. Great views today as the rain had washed away the smog cover.
