Despite the short month, I got in a lot of riding this month. The weather in Southern California has been really cooperative, only giving us a few days of rain in February.
Here’s where I ended up:
196.75 Miles
30,866 Feet of Ascent (~6 miles)
27:23 Hours
20,285 Calories (~15 McDonald’s Super Size Big Mac Value Packs)
I’m at 54,085 feet of ascent for the year. The 2+10 forecasts me to end up around 324,510 feet, well ahead of my goal of 250,000 feet.
I’ve lost a little weight since the beginning of the year. I’m hovering around 176 lbs down from 178.
It’s amazing how much water weight I can lose after a mountain bike ride. A few days ago, I weighed in at 179 after breakfast. A 3 hour ride, 100oz of water and 32oz of Accelerade later, I come home to weigh in at 174.
For what it’s worth, 1 gallon of water weighs 8.33 lbs. I took in approximately 4 liters (1.06 gallons) of liquids - or around 8.8 lbs worth. So does that mean I sweated out 13 lbs worth?
