I ran across this press release for a Marzocchi 55 ATA fork, which looks to be the perfect all-mountain fork. It sheds about a pound from its big brother, the Marzocchi 66 SL, coming in under 5lbs with the axle. I’m not sure if that includes the steerer tube weight or not. Marzocchi is weird about that.
- 4.93 lbs w/ axle
- Adjustable 125mm-165mm travel on the fly
- 20mm QR axle
No release date set so far, but it’ll probably be late 2007 or early 2008. So it’s lighter, stiffer and has a more usable travel adjust than my 2006 Marzocchi All Mountain 1. Too bad there’s not a trade in program. Maybe I will just have to ask Santa.
