Laguna Niguel, CA - Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park, also known as Aliso Woods, offers a nice variety of trails for mountain bikers.

You’ll find some nice climbs in Cholla, Mathis and Meadows. Rock-it and Lynx offer some fun singletrack coming down. Not on this map are 5 Oaks and Stair Step, which are probably the two most technical trails in Aliso Woods. Stair Step drops you down from the upper ridge onto the 133, where you’ll find the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park (LCWP). You can link that park up and have an all day excursion.

When to ride
The park is open from 7AM till Sunset. The park is usually closed after rainfall. The general rule is one day for every inch fo rain.

The weekends here are generally pretty packed. You’ll find lots of hikers in the morning and late afternoons. If you want to avoid the crowds, try riding here on a weekday or in the middle of a very hot day on the weekend.

Directions
The main entrance to the park is located near the corner of Alicia Parkway and Aliso Creek Road. The official address is 28373 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Niguel, CA - but most GPS systems and online maps show that address about a 1/2 mile from where you really want to be.

There is a parking fee of $3. Some may opt to park near the church across the street for free. If you can help it, pay the 3 bucks and help support our local wilderness parks.
