Earlier this week, the NBA announced a new dress code for its players.

While on team business (traveling, warming the bench during games, etc.), players will no longer be able to wear:

  • Sleveless shirts
  • Shorts
  • T-shirts
  • Chains, pendants, or medallions worn over the player’s clothes.
  • Sunglasses while indoors (Damon Jones, the Kool Moe Dee look is out)
  • Headphones (other than on the team bus or plane, or in the team locker room).

Also jerseys and baseball caps will no longer be acceptable attire for postgame press conference.

Some players have strongly objected, such as the retarded Tim Duncan, errrr, Tim Duncan calling the dress code retarded. Stephen Jackson thinks it’s racially motivated.

My work makes me dress a certain way - otherwise I’d be chilling here in flip-flops and shorts. Get over it. It’s not like the NBA is making you wear a Catholic school girl uniform.

Anyways, it was only a matter of time before some odds makers got busy with this. Here are the odds on who will be fined the most times by the NBA for dress code violations this year.

Allen Iverson 5 to 2
Marcus Camby 3 to 1
Stephen Jackson 4 to 1
Kobe Bryant 4 to 1
Chris Webber 5 to 1
Vince Carter 6 to 1
Ron Artest 12 to 1
Lamar Odom 12 to 1
Jalen Rose 13 to 1
LeBron James 15 to 1
Shaquille O’Neal 20 to 1
Tim Duncan 20 to 1
Antonio Davis 40 to 1

I’m surprised Kobe is at 4 to 1. Must be a sucker bet. But, what I’m really surprised by is the fact that Rasheed Wallace isn’t on this list. He would probably be in the 1 to 2 odds range. Anyone who rolls with a wrestling championship belt will probably never make the cover of GQ.

And if we’re lucky, this dress code will apply to NBA announcers too. Meet Bill Walton - perennial dress code offender.
